Juan Carlos Saloz

Born in 1994, Juan Carlos Saloz graduated in journalism from UAB in 2016 and completed his master’s degree in film directing from ESCAC in 2018. He is one of the co-founders of the audiovisual production company “lachiribita,” where he has written scripts, produced, and directed various projects spanning a wide range of fields, from fiction to music videos, and even advertising.

He has authored the book “Efecto Tamagotchi” (2019, Héroes de Papel) and served as the editor of the culture pop Break magazine. He has also worked as a writer for La Vanguardia, El Mundo, as well as Fotogramas and Games Tribune magazines. Currently, he works as a Content Editor at Softonic.

Some of Juan Carlos Saloz’s most notable projects include the short films “Hipnosis,” “sins.exe,” and “Polychrome,” as well as theater works such as “Destí: el no-res” and “Greta en el temps.” He is also a prominent screenwriter, having received awards from the TerrorMolins 2022 festival for his project “Escolanía,” from Mediapro Labs for his series “Indie Odyssey,” and from the 2023 Skyline Benidorm Film Fest for the short film “Extasia.”
